Badda Bing, Badda Boom - my Nissan Cube coup de gras
Posted on May 28th, 2009 4 commentsAccording to the Urban Dictionary (which I have secretly been contributing to for years), the definition of “Badda bing, badda boom” is: a way of saying, “That’s it, it’s all taken care of”.
And that’s how I feel about the Nissan Hyper Cube Contest at this point, especially after my HyperCube entry - along with my new Twitter BFF Cube Man - scored a prime feature spot in a recent Public Relations Report article. A whole bunch of people tweeted me last night about the article and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I got home! What are the chances that out of 500 entrants I would be one of the two people they chose to highlight in their article (um, actually the chances are 1 in 250 - but I digress).
Here’s the screenshot they used in the article of my “Daddy Loses It” video:

So this is my coup de gras, which is a phrase I do not take lightly considering I just found out that it means “death blow intended to end the suffering of a wounded creature.” Seriously, I’ve been using coup de gras as a descriptor equivalent to the phrase “cherry on the cake” for years now. No wonder people look at me so strangely.
In the context of this blog post though we’ll take coup de grace to mean “cherry on the cake” and by that (and this) I mean the appearance of me and my cardboard car in Public Relations Report as the final push I needed in winning one of those sweet and lovely Nissan Cubes. I mean pardon my terrible French, mais qu’est-ce que vous voulez? Blood?
So that’s it, I’ve made all the videos I can make, I’ve bugged Ashton Kutcher to the point that I kind of feel like a bit of a stalker and I’ve spent way too much time optimizing this blog in search engines for strange things like “Nissan Cube Saves Baby Whale.”
So bring it on Nissan! I anxiously await the announcement of the winners!
Thanks to Tyson Faa and Francisco Chacin who let me know about the Public Relations Report article on Twitter.

Nissan Cube the Second Octuplet Mom this year - 3rd in history
Posted on April 15th, 2009 No commentsVANCOUVER - There are unconfirmed reports tonight that Octuplets have been born at a local hospital here - making this the second set of Octuplets born in less than a year and the third ever in recorded history.
The mother, whose name has not been released by hospital officials due to privacy concerns, and the 8 newborns are said to be in good condition. One intrepid reporter was able to snap a quick somewhat blurry photo through the 5th story hospital window of the room the mother is said to be residing. At this point the remains unconfirmed, but it does appear that there are 8 identifiable newborns in the picture.
While unable to confirm the authenticity of the photo Chief Medical Doctor Ray Charelston did agree that, “it looks like there are 7 Nissan Cubes and 1 ‘Twitter bird’ in the photo.”

The Nissan Hyper Cube Dance - huge hit in Germany
Posted on April 14th, 2009 No commentsI’m doing a lot of research on the history of the Nissan Cube car now that I’m a finalist in the Nissan Hyper Cube contest. I’m finding the most amazing little factoids.
Did you know that there’s actually a Hyper Cube dance? I won’t blame you if you don’t it’s not that well known here in Canada, but it is a HUGE in the EU, especially Germany.
Check it out:
